So what is advertising?
We can get technical: According to Shopify, “Advertising is a marketing tactic involving paying for space to promote a product, service, or cause. The actual promotional messages are called advertisements, or ads for short. The goal of advertising is to reach people most likely to be willing to pay for a company’s products or services and entice them to buy.”
But what does that really mean and how does that help you?
Chances are, you’re familiar with advertising in the form of print, radio, television, direct mail, etc. But even these are fast becoming archaic and irrelevant, as we, a society, become evermore engrossed in the digital age.
So what is digital advertising?
